For many people Hogwarts was a home: a wonderful place where they felt safe, and loved. Bellatrix, however, felt like she didn’t belong. 

The rules, the teachers, the duties, everything seemed so useless compared to what was waiting for her in the real world. She just couldn’t wait to leave.

They had fought, and she was still bearing the signs of his hands on her shoulders. He slumped against the wall, sliding down ever so slowly and hiding his face behind his crossed arms. 

“How do you stand it?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

He looked up, the moonlight casting shadows over his features. “I don’t know.”
